Chris and Jane Pine extend a warm friendly welcome to you and
take pleasure in inviting you to join them at their lovely Seventeenth Century
farmhouse on their working dairy farm on the beautiful Somerset Levels.
Prices per person from £27.50 including full English breakfast

The old Blue Lias stone farmhouse sits on a shallow ridge with the pasture ground running down onto the Levels. These are a walkers delight and a wildlife haven of fields surrounded by drainage ditches, or "rhynes" as they are known. These are Environmentally Sensitive wetlands recognised as international importance designated as a Ramsar site along with the Florida Everglades. Herons and Beswick swans are dotted throughout and abundant other wild and wading birds.
We have a lot of local knowledge and can advise you on places to visit and eat in the area.

THE FARM
Meare Green Farm is a third generation dairy farm of Chris
and Jane Pine and their daughter Naomi and son James. Chris and James run the
day to day management of the dairy farm, while Naomi works for the National
Farmers Union. The farm is set on the North Curry
ridge between North Curry and Stoke St Gregory with the pasture lands running
down onto Curry Moor and Hay Moor. These fields are bounded by water-filled
rhynes in an area of Special Scientific Interest and Environmentally Sensitive
Area given RAMSAR
status.
The herd is 225 Holstein Friesian cows run on an intensive system and has a
Sovereign Supply milk with Dairycrest.
Jane manages the farm's diversification - a small
office business park, converted
from the old farm
buildings around
the barton.
